Bite ("we," "our," or "us") is a recipe and social cookbook app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Email address, username, and password (for login and account creation).
• User Content: Recipes, photos, comments, and other content you upload.
• Saved Recipes: Recipes you choose to save from search results, links you share into the app, or other users.
• Device and Usage Data: Basic technical information (such as device type, OS version, and in-app interactions).
• Optional Social Data: Your connections with friends and family inside the app.
• Contacts (optional): If you grant contacts permission, we read your device contacts to find friends already on Bite. Names, phone numbers, and email addresses are hashed on your device before anything is sent. Raw contact details never leave your device, and we cannot reverse the hashes.
• Push Notification Token: A device token so we can send notifications you have enabled.
• Subscription Status: Whether you have an active Bite Pro subscription, along with purchase identifiers and renewal or expiry dates provided by Apple.

We do not collect health information or precise GPS location.

We do not receive or store your payment card details. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple, and we are only told whether a subscription is active.

How We Collect Information

• Directly from you: When you create an account, upload recipes, or interact with friends.
• Automatically: Through app functionality, such as saving a recipe or adding items to a grocery list.
• From Apple: Subscription status and renewal information when you purchase Bite Pro.
• Third-party integrations: Services such as hosting, authentication, subscription management, and recipe processing. See Section 5.
